Lately, life in Shu had become dull. Day after day, week after week, time passed by and there was nothing to do. In the absence of Liu Bei, nobody required Fa Zheng's services. It didn't matter if he had any plans or strategies prepared, since there was no one to execute them. And, unlike Zhuge Liang and his apprentice, Shu's darkest tactician didn't bother himself with paperwork - he had subordinates to take care of the most tedious part of his work.

There was nothing left for him but indulging himself in every luxury and pleasure that money could buy. The finest wines smugglers could get from Wei, the most exquisite delicatessens, the most beautiful women and men - he spared no expense. And even so, it wasn't enough to keep the boredom away. He needed more stimulation. A different kind of stimulation - the kind that came with mind games, tricks and manipulation.

Lounging in the divan he had had installed in the gardens, Fa Zheng tapped idly his gloved fingers on a cup of wine, looking around as in search of something to entertain himself with. Creating discord among the handmaids had been fun for a while, but just... too easy to feel any actual satisfaction. No, he needed a challenge... and apparently, he was going to get his wish.

Out of the corner of his eye, the glimpse of something red caught his attention. A smirk curled his lips as he turned his head and saw the young man wearing the colours of Wu. Well, well... An unexpected visitor intruding in his dominion? This was interesting.

Stretching like a cat, Fa Zheng got up and walked quietly towards the Wu man, approaching him from behind. Did this poor sap even know where he was? It didn't seem so.
"My, my, what do we have here?", Fa Zheng purred at the man's back as he got close enough. "Somebody lost their way?"
Honestly... He wasn't in his happy place right now. Sun Quan had sent him out by himself on some ridiculous quest to try and learn other means of attacking the enemy besides fire attacks and during his absentminded wandering, he'd strayed off way too far and left the boundaries of Wu without even realizing it. Before he knew it, more and more articles of green had come into view and he'd tried multiple times to turn back around and ride his horse in the opposite direction to go back. No matter how far he rode, all he found was more and more green. he was too prideful to admit it out loud, but... He didn't mind if it was to himself. For whatever reason, he was to do this by himself, but he supposed Quan hadn't meant for him to wander off so far.

He had absolutely no idea where he was. He was a lone Wu youth lost in a land of green and he had no idea how to get back. His cinders were burning low and confidence was slowly dwindling...

He decided that the only way to get back was to ask for directions... But could he? he didn't think he had it in him. The more he wandered forward, the more he didn't seem to recognize. Before he knew it, he had landed himself in some Shu town... or city. He couldn't quite tell. No one seemed to be around, so he sighed in relief and made his way towards the center, hoping no one would notice his bright and overbearing red clothing. What appeared to be a nice, tranquil garden came into view and he sighed. Maybe he could sit and relax there for a bit before managing to find his way down to the market streets and maybe asking a towns person if they knew how to get back...

But before he managed to do that, someone had spooked him from behind and he let loose one of the least manly screams he could muster. he didn't even know he could even make those sounds... Jumping forward and turning around, he was quick to draw his bow and already had an arrow, lit on fire posed forward, ready to strike whoever was so foolish to disturb a Wu general. But the man who had surprised him... Looked intimidating even without a weapon drawn and he swallowed.

"...Stay back! ..I'm warning you! I'll light you and this whole place up!" He was too stubborn to admit he was lost-- and his pride managed to get the best of him. Maybe he should lower his bow... He was clearly the one who was at a disadvantage here...
Oh, that scream. That scream alone was already a bit of a satisfaction on its own, to get such a girly sound from a grown man. But, if he was to break down so easily... For a moment, he thought it might not be that interesting after all. Only for a moment, though - until the Wu man snapped and lifted his weapon. Fa Zheng smirked. Now that was a reaction worth his interest.

Resting a hand on his hip, the Shu tactician studied the young man in front of him. Rich clothes, well-groomed, proud stance, defiant..., this clearly wasn't a nobody. No, he looked more like a nobleman, maybe a general. Perhaps both. And that weapon... a fire arrow? Tsk. The people of Wu were so obsessed with their fire attacks, it didn't even surprise him anymore.

And, he had the guts to threaten him, despite being in his terrain? Fascinating. It only caused his smirk to become darker. Showing no concern whatsoever for the arrow pointing at him, Fa Zheng took a step closer to the young man, staring straight into his eyes. "And, after you light me and this whole place up, what will you do? Do you have an escape plan? Do you have an army waiting for you outside this gardens? Because I do. Of course, I would be dead either way, but so would you." He chuckled a little, as if the whole situation was amusing him. "So, perhaps you'd like to think of an alternative plan, hmm? My suggestion is, put that bow down and assess carefully your situation before doing something really stupid."
Hearing his words and the threat that lingered behind them, he broke out into a nervous sweat. Back with his own men, he'd be confident, but alas, he was alone and had no back up. Even if he had shot the man down, he was right... The whole Shu Army could literally be at his disposal. A few archers could take him out just as easily if someone had drawn a signal. So with limited options, he grimaced and closed one eye, taking aim, letting his finger take and guide his line of sight.

With exact precision and careful aim, he released the arrow. It shot right past the man so quick he was sure the flames were felt over his cheek and the wind whirred in his ear. He had not aimed at him, but deliberately at the small pond just behind him. The flame coated arrow sounded with a splash in the water and he slowly lowered his bow. He'd rather not have wasted an arrow, but he was certain he could find more elsewhere just as easily. He was in the middle of a town, after all. Or was it a city?

His chuckling made him feel uneasy, but the man was right. He was at the disadvantage. While he lowered his bow, he had not released his grip on it, just in case if he needed it in a flash.

"...There, I lowered it, okay? Now.. Just tell me where I am. I want to go home..."
